As we continue to expand our operations, we are looking for a capable and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Import & Commercial to strengthen our supply chain and compliance operations.
The Assistant Manager – Import & Commercial will assist in managing the full spectrum of import activities, including documentation, coordination with suppliers and logistics partners, customs clearance, and commercial compliance. This role demands a proactive individual with sound knowledge of import regulations and strong coordination skills.
Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agents for smooth import operations.
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of import documentation (LCs, invoices, packing lists, etc.).
Monitor shipment status and follow up on delays, discrepancies, or customs issues.
Maintain records for audits and ensure compliance with government import regulations.
Support in vendor management and pricing negotiations where required.
Liaise with internal departments (procurement, finance, warehouse) to align delivery schedules and documentation.
Prepare import cost sheets, track duty/tax payments, and assist in budgeting for import costs.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in import operations or commercial logistics.
Strong knowledge of import regulations, customs clearance, and documentation processes.
Familiarity with banking instruments (LCs, TT payments) and Incoterms.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred).
Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
