As we continue to expand our operations, we are looking for a capable and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Import & Commercial to strengthen our supply chain and compliance operations.


Position Summary

The Assistant Manager – Import & Commercial will assist in managing the full spectrum of import activities, including documentation, coordination with suppliers and logistics partners, customs clearance, and commercial compliance. This role demands a proactive individual with sound knowledge of import regulations and strong coordination skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agents for smooth import operations.

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of import documentation (LCs, invoices, packing lists, etc.).

  • Monitor shipment status and follow up on delays, discrepancies, or customs issues.

  • Maintain records for audits and ensure compliance with government import regulations.

  • Support in vendor management and pricing negotiations where required.

  • Liaise with internal departments (procurement, finance, warehouse) to align delivery schedules and documentation.

  • Prepare import cost sheets, track duty/tax payments, and assist in budgeting for import costs.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in import operations or commercial logistics.

  • Strong knowledge of import regulations, customs clearance, and documentation processes.

  • Familiarity with banking instruments (LCs, TT payments) and Incoterms.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred).

  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
